Sav Day 18
Today’s post is a little more about one of my new adventures/jobs. I just finished a four day barre training and I am looking forward to teaching at two of the local studios here. If you have never taken a Pure Barre class they are a franchise that is individually owned. I have been training and taking classes at the two Pure Barre Savannah locations; midtown and downtown. The classes are challenging yet empowering. Pure Barre cultivates a strong following and an open community. Encouraging people of all fitness levels to “shake” with their workouts. This type of barre is an intricate yet clear method of teaching. Even though.I have a lot of experience teaching, I am a big believe that as a teacher you have to constantly be a student. Not being too afraid to be nervous, to put myself out there, and get those butterflies.
Pure Barre is also a place where I am looking to cultivate new friendships in the area. As I have mentioned in previous posts, it was really hard for me to leave my friends and family when I moved. I had a tight knit community in New York, and would love to have that here. When Leo leaves for long periods of time for work, I am scared of the loneliness. It is hard to go from having your partner being such a big part of your routine to not, and I am trying to find a balance as I build a life here.
Keeping this short and sweet. My message here is I encourage you to support studio and individual teachers either online or in person. The wellness industry in many aspects is taking a big hit, and people (much like myself), want to adapt and do whatever we can do continue to bring people help with movement and mindfulness.
