Sav Day 17

Over halfway through the month and I cannot believe how much more of Savannah I have left to see. I will be here for the next couple years, so luckily time is on my side.

I know I said Friday was date night, and it was, but this week Saturday was also date night! I am not trying to brag about the weather here (you can remind me of this in August when I am baking), but it was sunny and 75 with no humidity on Saturday evening and after a full day of training inside being outdoors was a must. We ate dinner at the Pie Society food truck in Starland Yard. Talk about a double whammy (do people still use that phrase?) of great local businesses.

Starland Yard opened in Savannah about two years ago, maybe less? So pretty new. It is a few shipping containers that box in most of a city block. Now reading that I know you are thinking ehhh, but you walk through this shipping container and it is an outdoor “experience” if you will. A courtyard of rotating food trucks, outdoor bar, two floors of seating areas, wood fire pizza oven, cornhole boards, and palm trees. I cant believe this concept hasn’t caught on elsewhere. You open your tab upon arrival, order whatever you would like at any of the places inside, and give them your last night to pay. It is so convenient and fun. You have have a little something here, little something there, and chill out. Another home-run, can’t say enough about this place.

How perfectly did this kid smile for my picture? The rest of the family doesn’t look thrilled. sadly.

Our dinner was fish and chips! And yum. I love crispy, salty, fish and chips with the house made (truck made) tartar sauce.

You get the gist from the photos. If you haven’t thought about visiting Savannah yet I hope these posts and amazing businesses here inspire you to make a trip one day!
