Sav Day 21

Today was one of those days where I would cross something off my to do list and two more things would appear. I am borderline obsessive about my to do lists, there is something to satisfying about crossing something off a list, or for my digital lists hitting that delete button. But at the same time, it seems to never end, and of course it doesn’t. I had a one on one Zoom session with someone I look up to very much last week, Timber Hawkeye. If you haven’t heard of Timber Hawkeye, read Buddhist Bootcamp, or listened to the Buddhist Bootcamp podcast I invite you to check out this website and see what its about. This ex Buddhist monk offers mindfulness that has opened me up to a the practice of a less complicated way of living.

The constant feeling of the never ending to do list has been bothering me. I like to call it the “just keeping my head above water” feeling. 2020 was the year I unexpectedly started my own small business. If you haven’t been living under a rock, I am sure the year has been a little different than you planned for yourself as well. So the practice I am currently working on, after I discussed it on my call with Timber, is the beauty of owning your own business and living a purposeful life, for me, means the to do list will never ever be done. There is always going to be something to learn, something to do, somewhere to grow. And rather than rushing to the end point that I built up in my head, try enjoying the steps along the way a little more. A stop and smell the roses mentality if you will. There is no point I can rush to that would make me feel like I have it all “done”.

By dinner time my “to dos” had grown longer and longer, and decided rather than cooking I was going to order some take out for Leo and I. Supporting local Savannah and not having to cook or do dishes? Win win. We live very close to Bull Street Taco so it was an easy choice.

I know tacos are a hit everywhere, and for good reason. You can order inside if you’d like, through the Heartland app, or through their outdoor kiosk. Covered patio or outdoor tables, but we took ours to go, like I said we live pretty close. There is something so satisfying about these little tortilla wrapped bundles of joy. We love their cauliflower tacos, fish tacos, and poke tostadas, but you cant go wrong anywhere. Look at this menu:

So moral of the story is busy day = tacos, and I am thrilled about it.
