Sav Day 27

I think this blog is going to piggy back into the best coffee shops in Savannah. Today was a morning of clients and classes, so by the time 1pm rolled around it was time to feed my coffee addiction. My coffee addiction is a real thing, I know everyone says that and for me its definitely true. I don’t necessarily feel the effects of caffeine, but I feel when I don’t have it. My mom playfully calls me “decaffeinated Dom”, and even I know that is someone you don’t want to hang out with. To avoid that version of me I headed to The Gallery Espresso.

This outstanding day in Savannah is what dreams are made of.

An iced latte with coconut milk and a raspberry lemon scone for this gal as I sat outside and read for a bit, overcome with gratitude that this is my life. I have been reading Turtles All The Way Down by John Green, and have been reflecting upon my life in a different sense. I have never been one to suffer from anxiety, and if you don’t know this book it is an intense story about a teenage girl with crippling anxiety and OCD. It opened up my eyes to what living with your own thoughts can be like for some people, I am learning to have more empathy. Taking a deeper understanding of the fact that no one will ever truly “get” one another, we are different in our own heads than others see and understand us. Yet if I can work on empathy. I allow someone to be them, to feel their own experience, and know that I do not have to relate with my own shared experiences. Books are an incredible source to see into the lives of others, to transport yourself into a world where you might never cross on your own two feet. Have any books I must read? Please don’t hesitate to reach out to tell me.

My latte and pastry were the perfect addition to my afternoon. Looking forward to exploring more coffee shops here in Sav,
