Movement & Motivation
I love the force of camaraderie that fitness brings. Being able to connect with other people through healthy habits drives me daily. There is something powerful that happens when we become vulnerable through fitness. Willing to allow someone to guide you through a physical practice is a letting down of your walls in some capacity, and it breeds strong bonds. When you accomplish something difficult with another person or a group of people it links you closer together, digitally or in person. Offering a fitness challenge this month to continue that building.
Movement & Motivation Challenge:
I want to start by saying this challenge is meant to be fun. If you know me well, then you know I hate competition. I was never good at sports because of my lack of aggression and hate for competition. So this is meant to help with motivation, accountability, and grow a deeper love of movement. Here are the parameters:
Log your workouts. This could be on paper or digitally, but keep track of them. Shovel snow? Heck yeah that counts. Take a walk outside? Write it down! Take class with me? Add up those minutes! Workout with someone else? Great! Continue to keep the movement going. Take photos, use social media. or whatever keeps your motivated.
Join our Facebook group: Aspire To Perspire. (If you have or use Facebook). This is a place to share your workouts, questions, and inspiration. I am looking to create a group in which we can communicate.
Share a recipe with me. Maybe something healthy, a holiday tradition, a cookie recipe, etc. I want to know what gets you in the kitchen. Even your favorite place to order food if that’s more your thing!
Tag me in a workout or quote on social media that inspires you. You can tag my Instagram or Facebook pages. Don’t use social media? Email or text me some of what gets you moving.
Accountability can change, and I think improve, our fitness routines.
