Sav Day 15

10/15 was a day of job training for me, I am going to be teaching at a local studio here and I am learning a whole new method of movement. Since it was a pretty busy day, I decided to make my local business support something I could do online. Even though I adore going to local shops, it is also important to give back in other ways. You have heard me talk about my three pets; Toni, Cannoli, and Kaley. All three were adopted from non-profit, non-kill shelters. After doing a little search I found The Humane Society for Greater Savannah. I went to their wish list and decided to fill a few items.

I will spare you the pictures of the animals that need adopting, because it really tugs at the heart strings. But I absolutely did want to mention they do something called a “pawjama party” program which is:

The Pawjama Party program was created to help reduce kennel stress, provide pets with enrichment, and help HSGS learn more about its pets through stories from Party Hosts. Party Hosts can take a dog or cat home for the weekend to give it extra attention in a home environment.

The Pawjama Party program will also expose HSGS pets to potential adopters outside our Adoption Center.  Taking your Pawjama Party pet out to explore Savannah or taking pictures and sharing on social media will increase their visibility to potential adopters.

To sign up for the program please email Montana Tohm at mtohm@humanesocietysav.org

If you are in the Savannah area, how amazing does this sound?! Especially if maybe you are a military family and your service member is gone. It puts a lump in my throat thinking about it.

And not only do they adopt and foster pets, but they neuter, are a low cost clinic, have walking programs, microchipping, doggy day out, resources with pets for hurricane evacuation, and training classes. My appreciation for people who go to these lengths for our animals is so deep. Kind souls with a special place in heaven.

I also emailed them about training classes for our Kaley. Sweet girl needs some help in the listening department, and I am not afraid to ask for assistance when I need it. Support local friends, even your animals.
